Women & Girls Circles
Gathering generations of women and girls in connection, ceremony, friendship and a little bit of wildness!
There is something rather important about women and girls gathering together in circle. It is ancient, it is something our ancestors knew the importance of, but that perhaps we have forgotten a little along the way.
For generations, women have gathered in circles. Around fires, beneath the moon, in sacred spaces and within their communities. They came together to share stories, pass down wisdom, celebrate, grieve, laugh, nurture and support one another. The circle was a place of belonging, where every woman had a voice and every woman had her place.
There is an ancient power in sitting in circle. No one sits at the head, no one is above or below another. We meet as equals, witnessing one another's stories, holding space for what needs to be spoken and remembering that we were never meant to navigate life alone. There is something deeply healing about being heard, without judgement, without interruption and without anyone trying to fix us.
And I believe our girls deserve to experience this too.
At Peace Heal Love Wellbeing Centre, our Women's Circles have long offered a beautiful space for women to gather, share, be heard and simply be themselves. Our Women & Girls Circles carry that same spirit of connection, but invite our younger generations to come and sit alongside us too.
Because why should our girls have to wait until they are grown women to discover the magic of sitting in circle?
What if they could grow up knowing that their voices matter, their feelings are welcome and that there is such beauty in women supporting one another? What if gathering in community, speaking from the heart and listening without judgement became something completely natural to them?
Women & Girls Circle is a monthly gathering where mothers, daughters, sisters, nieces, grandmothers and friends come together across the generations, sharing in the ancient tradition of circle.
We begin in ceremony, sitting together and sharing what is on our hearts. Sometimes life feels heavy, doesn't it? And sometimes it is full of joy, laughter and all the wonderful things in between. I want our girls to grow up knowing that every emotion has its place, that they don't need to hide the difficult bits of themselves and that being heard, without judgement or the need to fix anything, is a beautiful gift.
And then, well, we will have a little fun!
We might move, stretch, dance, sing, laugh or simply see where the afternoon takes us. The girls help shape these gatherings too, bringing their ideas, curiosity, silliness and wonderful wild selves into the space. After all, we have just as much to learn from them as they do from us.
There will be plenty of warm herbal tea for the grown-ups, friendship and fun for the girls, and space for everyone to simply be.
All ages are welcome. From the littlest girls to the wisest grandmothers, there is a place for you here. Our conversations are always guided with the youngest person in mind, creating a welcoming, age-appropriate space where everyone can feel included and encouraged to share, without pressure.
Perhaps the most beautiful part of gathering like this is what we pass between generations. Our girls get to witness women supporting women, speaking from their hearts, listening deeply and celebrating one another. And we get to remember a little of the freedom, playfulness and wonder that our girls carry so naturally.
Because when we teach our girls that their voices matter, we are helping to shape the women they will one day become.
And perhaps, in bringing our girls into circle, we are doing something even bigger. We are keeping alive an ancient thread of women's wisdom, weaving connection between generations and showing our girls that sisterhood is not simply something we talk about, but something we live.
And goodness, doesn't the world need more of that?
